Obituary

Alan Frederick Hunter born 11-11-29 to Frederick and Mildred Hunter. Survived by his children, Beth Cindy, Jeff and Alan. Twelve grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. And by his loving wife of 55 years Sylvia Hunter. A true representation of the greatest generation. Alan was a man who always put his responsibilities to family and country first. He was a veteran of the Air Force during the Korean War, and then went on to be a manager with New York telephone. Working to creating such innovative products as e911, the location based system we are now so familiar with, and the pager among other things. But he will best be remembered for his love of life and inspiration he brought to others. He had a passion for hiking, fishing, swimming, water skiing and enjoying all that came with that. Graduated from Rutgers and then mastered at Columbia. Born and raised a New Yorker in every sense of the word. Later moving to Tampa to enjoy the beach and the good life. He always kept learning, working and expanding his interest. Above all dad always said he was just a man, a thought instilled in a strong father figure who would always put his responsibilities first. But he was much more than a man he was my Pal.
