Allen David Graves, Sr., 81, of Tampa, Florida, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016 surrounded by his family and Juana Agulia his longtime girlfriend of 22 years. According to his wishes, no services are to be held.He wanted to be remembered for his joyful life and not his passing away.Each person should celebrate and remember his life in their own way, either by raising a glass in a toast, or extending an act of kindness in his honor. Allen was born September 17, 1934 in Plant City, Florida to Mildred (Shephard) Graves and Joseph Graves.As a child he attended the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind in St. Augustine, Florida. Those that knew Allen knew he was a sport fanatic and enjoyed playing every sport imaginable.Many of his lifelong friendships were made through organized sporting events and leagues sponsored by the Tampa Bay Deaf Club. Allen is survived by his two sons, Allen Graves Jr and his wife Lorain of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Jay "Dutch" Graves and his wife Naline of Tampa, FL, his daughter Serena (Graves) Fitzgerald and her husband Tobin of Lindsay, Ontario, Canada; six grandchildren, Geneva, Amber, JD, Allen Graves III (Trey), Matthew, and Rory; five great grandchildren, Aiden, Madison, Tyler, Lucian, and Annabelle. He was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Graves (2000) and his parents, Mildred Pleus (Shephard) and Joseph Graves. Vise sending flowers please donate to the Memorial fund for Allen D. Graves SR.
