IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Amy Joyce
Ross
May 31, 1929 – June 10, 2023
Amy Joyce Ross, 94, passed away June 10, 2023. Amy was born to the late Charles and Sadye (Cook) Cohan in Brooklyn, New York.
Amy was a proud graduate of P.S. 193 and Midwood High School. She attended Vassar College but left before graduation to marry Arthur L. Ross, the love of her life who predeceased her in 2016 after almost sixty eight years of marriage.
With him, and later their two children, Anne and Bradley, they lived in Ohio (Cincinnati area), upstate New York (Schenectady) and the Philadelphia area (Bala Cynwyd, PA) travelling where his career with General Electric took them.
They moved to Tampa and University Village (now Unisen Senior Living) in 2010 to be closer to their daughter.
Early in her marriage, Amy worked as an accountant and book keeper and later in life dedicated herself to her family and volunteer work. She was very proud of her volunteer years with Main Line Hadassah including her five years as their treasurer.
Amy is survived by her children, Anne (Greg Vawter) of Temple Terrace and Bradley (Susan) of King of Prussia, PA as well as grandchildren Charles and Judith. Her older brother, Robert Cooke of Tarpon Springs, FL, also survives, as do four nieces. She is predeceased by her sister, Effie (Cohan) Newman.
