Mrs. Audie Mae Chandler Tharpe, 84, of Tampa joined the Lord on May 23, 2014 and is embraced by those who have gone on before her after a longfought battle with pneumonia. She was born in 1930 in Mississippi and was one of seven born to Tommie Serena Lee and Louis Jefferson Chandler. Audie was a member of the Church of Christ and worshiping locally for the last 14 years at Henderson Blvd Church of Christ. Her life of service including nursing, child care, elder care and volunteering at Metroploitan Ministries and South Tampa Nursing and Rehab. She was preceded in deathby her husband Alfred Tharpe, step son Thomas Tharpeand beloved sisters Alta Bailey, Martha Crowder and Irene Forbes. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Lynn Tharpe Wright (husband Anthony Wright)and granddaughter, Rachael Antonia Wright; step daughter, Mary Jane Tharpe and granddaughters, Valerie Aguirre and family, Monica Tharpe and Rhonda Conry and family; sisters, Ann Junknath; brother, James "Sonny" Chandler; brother-in-law, Alexander Bailey; and many many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. A memorial service will take place at 2:00 pm Saturday, May 31st at Henderson Blvd Church of Christ.
