Audrey Lupien, 83, of Tampa, passed away on October 27, 2018. Audrey was born in Lewistown, PA on November 19, 1934 to Grant and Winifred Schiele. She graduated from Bryn Mawr School of Nursing in Bryn Mawr, PA and moved to Tampa where she met her future husband, Ronald Lupien. Audrey and Ron were married on June 3, 1961 and recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. In addition to nursing, Audrey also worked for several years as a sign language interpreter for hearing impaired students in the Hillsborough County School System.

Audrey had a passion for dogs and in addition to the dogs that she and Ron owned over the years, they were also volunteer puppy raisers for Canine Companions for Independence (CCI), a non-profit organization that provides assistance dogs to adults, children, and veterans. She enjoyed traveling, RVing, sewing, quilting, and playing Mahjong. Audrey was a member of the Friendship Sunday School class and Mary Martha Circle at Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church.

Audrey is survived by her husband, Ronald Lupien; son Grant Lupien (wife Terri); son Ronnie Lupien; daughter Yvette Ratzlaff (husband Steve); and grandchildren Rachael Tully, Morgan Tully, Derek Ratzlaff (wife Victoria), and Andrew Ratzlaff. She is preceded in death by her parents, Grant and Winifred Schiele, and her brother, Donald Schiele.

A memorial service will be held at Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church in the Chapel, 2902 W. Fletcher Ave., Tampa, on Monday, November 19, at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canine Companions, www.cci.org
