Mr. Bernard R. Koener, 71, of Tampa, Florida went home to see his Lord on September 29, 2015. He was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania, Mr Koener was first, a dedicated family man, a member of Idlewild Baptist Church and served in the United States Air Force. He is survived by his life partner and former wife, Donna; their three children, Chantelle Madden, Mark Koener and Nicole Frix; and five grandchildren, Leah, Austin, Alex, Emily and Jake. Mr Koener previously owned and operated several hairstyling salons in both Johnstown, Pennsylvania and Tampa, Florida. He was also a talented musician who played the saxophone, keyboard, guitar and drums. The family will receive friends from 3-4 pm Sunday, Oct 4th followed by a funeral at 4:00 PM at the chapel of MacDonald Funeral Home, 10520 N. Florida Ave, Tampa, FL 33612. MacDill Air Force Base Honor Guard will then present honors.
