Mrs. Betty Byers, 82, long time homemaker and resident of Temple Terrace, passed away peaceably Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015 in Houston, TX. She enjoyed good health until suffering a sudden stroke 3 days prior to her death. Betty was born in Tampa, Florida in 1933,daughter of Roy and Florine Elsberry. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Sarah Thayer. Betty is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bill Byers; sons,Tim and Ann Byers, and Roy and Roxana Byers; 3 grandchildren, Sheena, Jared and Daphne; and several nieces and nephews. Private burial will take place Thursday morning at Florida National Cemetery. A public memorial service will be held at 7 PM Thursday evening at the Temple Terrace Church of Christ with Don Truex officiating.
