In Loving Memory

Betty M. Dunn, 85, formerly of Tampa passed away June 22, 2009 in Tennessee. Born June 26, 1923 in Dunnellon, Florida. She was the oldest child of Nellie and Ira Johnson. Her husband, James C. Dunn, died in 1972. Betty graduated from Hillsborough High School and the University of Tampa. She was an elementary school teacher in Hillsborough County and retired after 22 years. Upon her retiring from teaching, she moved to Deland, Florida where she was active in bowling and the Volusia County Retired Teachers Association. She attended New Orleans Baptist and Wellswood Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. While living in Tennessee, she was a member of her nephew's (David Coram) church, Living Water's Baptist in Oak Grove, TN. She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Connie Dunn McDonald & Alvin McDonald of Wesley Chapel; grandchildren, Steven (Vilma) of New Jersey, Michael (Jaimie) of Texas, Melinda McDonald of Kentucky; three great grandchildren and other extended family. A funeral service will take place 1:00 PM Friday, July 3rd at the chapel of MacDonald Funeral Home, 10520 N, Florida Ave, Betty's nephews, Rev. David Coram and Rev. Jerald Dunn will officiate. Interment will follow at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
