Betty J. "Nana" Guerra, Our beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all; passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side Wednesday, July 12, 2017. Born in Harlan, KY. Mom touched many lives in her 82 years always thinking of others before herself. Her pride and joy was family, and she loved each and every one with all of her heart and soul. She had a huge heart and opened her arms to welcome everyone. She had tremendous faith and was a Charter member for over 56 yrs at West Broad Street Baptist Church. She was active in the Young at Hearts and Compassionate Grandmas. She loved her church family and they loved her. Her cooking and baking skills were exceptional and always a standout, anyone who had meals and desserts would always look forward to the next one. Her family had their favorite dessert, which she would bake for each of us on our birthdays. She was preceded in death by her husband Carlo "Charlie" Guerra and son, Kenny Guerra. She is survived by her children, Carol D'Urso (Paul), and Kevin Guerra; grandchildren, Teri, Jenna, Meagan, Austin, Erin, Kaylee and Alisha; her great-grandchildren, Abby, Madison, Mason, Haleigh and Kacen. Our family thanks Mel and Natalya for the excellent compassionate care received in ICU at Florida Hospital Carrollwood, Matt at Florida Hospital Tampa and a special thank you to her ICU nurse, Chrystal who was with our family to the end providing her care and compassion.A celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday, July 22, 11am at the West Broad Street Baptist Church, 3809 W. Broad Street, where the family will receive friends 10-11am. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to West Broad Street Baptist Church in her honor.
