Billy Dellere Hogeland, 84, of Lutz, Florida, went home to be with the lord, with his family by his side on April 20, 2023.

He was preceded in death by his beloved Libby, wife of 50 years; his daughter, Angie Geary; his parents Asa and Bertha Hogeland; his brother, Sammy, and Brother-in-Law, Dwayne. He is survived by his daughter, Julie Kladakis (John); four grandchildren, Ashley Kladakis-Tyson (Austin), Manuel Kladakis (Megan), Kaileigh Geary, and Billy Kladakis; Two great-grandchildren, Ashtin Kladakis-Tyson and Elizabeth Tyson; and one great grand-baby on the way, Isabella Kladakis, as well as his sister, Brenda Jackson.

Bill was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and trusted friend. He spent his childhood harvesting cotton on the family farm in Arkadelphia, Alabama before leaving home to join the US Air Force where he spent one year stationed on the DEW Line in Greenland before relocating to MacDill AFB in Florida, where he met his beloved Libby on a blind date.

After marrying, he joined the Tampa Fire Department where he retired as Captain in 1984. Following his time with the Fire Department, he and Libby spent their time travelling to destinations on the East Coast including Quebec and Nova Scotia as well as a thorough tour of Western Europe. He and Libby enjoyed their twilight years in Florida, spending time with and watching their grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. After Libby's departure, Bill spent time each week providing meals to families in need near his home in Lutz.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 26 at 11:00 AM at MacDonald Funeral Home, 10520 North Florida Avenue, Tampa FL, 33612. Service will begin at 11:30 AM, before proceeding to Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102 ^nd Avenue, Bushnell FL, 33513 for a gravesite service at 1:30 PM.
