Brenda Dawn (Geyer) Queen, 48, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2012 at her home in Tampa FL. Brenda was born on January 28, 1964 to Alvin and Joann Geyer in Rapid City, SD.After graduating from Stevens High School, Rapid City SD in 1982, Brenda worked at Landstroms Black Hills Gold Manufacturing Company in Rapid City.Having decided South Dakota winters were too cold for her she headed for Florida.For the next 17 years Brenda was employed by various nursing homes in Tampa. Brenda later found love and married Bill Queen in Tampa.Together they enjoyed traveling, boating and other outdoor activities.Brenda loved the water.They both loved animals and housed many feathered and furry pets.Sadly, she lost her husband Bill in 2005. Brenda is survived by her mother, Joann (Charles) Britton of Rapid City, SD, sisters, Renee Keinitz (Randy) of Queen Creek, AZ , Crystal Geyer of Rapid City; brother, Scot Geyer, Edgemont SD, stepmother, Linda Geyer of Belle Fourche SD, stepsister, Andria (Mike) Hill, Las Vegas, stepbrothers, Rob (Wendy) Nelson, Longmont Co and Dan (Mayra) Nelson, Ft Collins, CO and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her special friends Mike & Ann White, Tampa FL.She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Queen and her father Alvin Geyer. A memorial service will be give by Kenny Moorer at the University Church of Christ, Tampa on Sunday Oct 21, 2012 at 4pm and a later date in Rapid City. A special thank you to Brenda's church family at University Church of Christ for all the love and support they gave her.
