Brian Thomas Venables, age 58 of Port Orange, FL passed away September 20, 2016, born June 6, 1958 in Stratford, NJ
Loving Husband of Beryl Wright of 32 years, father of Blair, Robyn, and Craig T., son of Doris and Raymond T. (D), brother of Keith T. (Diane). Survived by numerous brother-and-sister in laws, nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
Following Brian's wishes, we are having a non-traditional service incorporating Brian's favorite things, food, drinks and will be held on October 30th at the Lakeside Community Center, 1999 City Center Circle, Port Orange FL 32129 from 1pm-5pm. We will start with a tribute to Brian, followed by a celebration of his life. Casual attire including sports jerseys and flip flops are encouraged.
Brian attended and played basketball at Weidner University, graduate of Rowan University ('81).
Former business owner with his father and 21 year employee of AAA National Office.
Longtime member of Haddon Heights Chapter of the Jaycees, former President, External Vice President, External Director, Internal Director, Sports Director, 2 time winner of the Jaycee of the year, 2 time winner of the Jaycee quarter among the many awards, member of the US Jaycees.
Brian was the voice of Florida high school swimming, Special Olympics swimming, and other Volusia county sports both at high school and college level.
Volunteer for Meals on Wheels and Big Brother organization.
An "Outstanding Young Men of America" award recipient 1987.
Avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies, FSU football, Orlando Magic, and NASCAR racing.
Member of US Masters swimming, enjoyed basketball, going to the beach, spending time with family, traveling, and watching sports.
Food connoisseur of, but certainly not limited to Philly cheesesteaks, soft pretzels, and cream donuts.
Former member of Acappella singing group "4 on the Floor".
Extensive travel as far as Alaska and 29 other states plus Canada and Mexico.
Brian was always thankful for Beryl's continuous support of all of his endeavors and his family will be scattering his ashes at all of his favorite places.
