Carl E. Stefan Jr., (73), of Tampa, Florida, passed away on September 9, 2023.

Carl, was born to Carl E. Stefan Sr. and Shirley M. Stefan on January 19, 1950, in East Chicago, Indiana.  He spent his formative years there with his brothers and sister:  Marc, Daniel, Darrell  and Laura before the family relocated to Houston, Texas.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Flora, of 51 years and their three children Christopher (Mojdeh), Lani-Marie (Mark), Suzanne (Raanan) and four grandchildren: Sami, Ava , Sameen, and Ari.

A member of the Baha'i Faith, Carl was passionate about his love of humanity and helping to build "an ever-advancing civilization" by devoting his energy and material resources to his local and international community.  After 34 years dedicated to US government service with the US Navy, US Coast Guard and US State Department, Carl, along with Flora, established a non-profit organization. Together, they set out to provide resources for poverty-stricken families in the Philippines, and support their children with educational opportunities through their fund raising endeavors.  A loving and big-hearted grandfather of four blessed grandchildren, Carl positively impacted the hearts and minds of many around the world.  He will be truly missed.

Carl's family will host a funeral service on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at 9 AM EST. The service will be at Sunset Memory Gardens in Thonotosassa, Florida.
