Mrs. Carmen Rivera, 89 years old, passed away peacefully in her sleep August 3, 2020 at her son's home in Albany, New York.Born in the southeastern coastal town of Maunabo, PR in 1930, whereshe lived until finishing high school. She later moved to Santurce, PRwhere she studied unit processing and later worked for the department of health in the unit processing department. During this time, she met her future husband Pablo, and they were married for 61 years until his passing in 2013. In 1954 they moved to Indiana, where her husband attended college. She graduated fromcosmetology in 1959and worked many years in her chosen profession. She is survived by her two children Berta Ortiz (Jesse) of Lutz, Fl, Pablo Rivera Jr.(Maria) of Albany, NY; 5 grandchildren: Cristina Ortiz, Jesse Ortiz (Tania), Maria D. Rivera, Pablo J. Rivera, Laura I. Rosbozom (Matthew); 12 great grandchildren: Jasmine A Rivera, Thomas and Torianna Skorupski, Mylah, Ivelysse, Elyanah, Alexander and Victoria Rosbozom; Zoë and Penelope Rivera; Andrewand AlexanderOrtiz; 1 great-great granddaughter: Eva A. Rivera-Bowman.Intermenttookplace August 12 at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida, where she waslaid to rest alongside her husband.
