Carmen Lydia Zawacki of Tampa, Florida passed away August 9, 2016 at the age of 77 having succumbed to her 4th battle with cancer.Daughter of Antonia Perez and Tomas Morales, she is survived by her brother Croberto Perez and Marta, eldest daughter Ivonne Vaughn and Ken, son Adam Fishman and Merrill Kubak, son Henry (Hank) Solar Zawacki and Rebeca, and grandchildren who she adored; Andrew, Scott, Sophie, Ivy, and Henry.She was preceded in her death by her son Juan Figueroa. Carmen also cared greatly for her dogs Pedro and Leo.
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Carmen moved to New York in search of greater opportunity. She spent the past 40 years as a Florida resident mostly in Tampa having worked retail at the Tampa airport subsequent to many entrepreneurial ventures and work experiences.Her clear cut unique perspective on real life issues left a huge impact on those she touched. She had a gift of recognizing qualities in others that they often didn't see in themselves.She enjoyed a life of making fast new friends.She constantly challenged herself with learning new things, embracing ideas with zeal and freely sharing what she had learned with all.Born in Santurce P.R., she also resided in Bronx and Whitestone NY, Stubenville OH, and finally Tampa.Her open-mouth style laughter will be missed by many.
