Chantal Nelson was a loving mother and loyal friend to many. Most importantly she was a faithful servant and friend of Jehovah God. Chantal was born on August 23, 1943 in Poitiers, France.

She is survived by her brother Christian who lives in Australia and sister Carol who lives in France. She is also survived by her oldest son Mark Cloughessy and wife Lesa and their adult children Zac and Krista. Also left to cherish her memory is her son David Cloughessy. The there is her ever loving daughter and caregiver Jaquelin Hancock and husband Jack. And her youngest loving and caring son Richard Nelson and his wife Eleanor. along with his children Ricky, Jennifer, and Ryan.

At a young age Chantal moved to the United States with her son Mark. Living in a new country and not familiar with the language, she came in contact with the Jehovah's Witnesses and began studying the Bible.

From her study of the Bible and attending meetings at the Kingdom Hall, she taught herself the English language. She dedicated her life to Jehovah God in 1965 in New York.

Chantal carried a cheerfulness about herself. Give her some old music and you would be sure to see her singing and dancing. Plus she never met a stranger, always sharing with others her love for her God, Jehovah.

On Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 3PM EST, a memorial will be held with family and friends at the Crenshaw Lake Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall located at 707 W. Lutz Lake Fern Road, Lutz, Florida. Brother Steve Kirkland will officiate the service. There will also be a Zoom link for those unable to attend in person.
