Colonel Clinton Edwin Granger Jr.Falcon 6 November 12, 1928 - June 18, 2021 Military Service 1945-1976. 2 Silver Star, 10 Army Air Medal,4 Legion Merit, 2 Bronze Star, 2 Purple Heart, ArmyCommendation Medal. Son of Elizabeth Ann Harris and Clinton Edwin Granger Sr.Clinton passed away June 18, 2021 in the loving arms of hiswife Lynn in their home in Tampa Florida.Clinton had visions of service to our great country since hewas a young teen growing up during WWII in ChampaignIllinois. Clint learned to fly at the age of sixteen. As a teenagerin the 1940's he was in the Civil Air Patrol, ROTC andNational Guard.He graduated from West Point 1951. He commanded troopsfrom infantry units to platoon through brigade in combat inKorea and Vietnam. Clint miraculously survived a failedparachute crash into the ground from 1,200 feet. Clintpersisted in getting back to serving his country. Clint'sdedicated military career spanned thirty-years, always asoldier and gentleman at heart, always volunteering to goback into action with his men. Clint took great responsibilityfor the life and welfare of his soldiers, and felt their lossesdeeply.Returning from two years in Vietnam he earned a mastersdegree in international affairs from George WashingtonUniversity in 1969 and was named distinguished honorgraduate from the Naval War College. In the early 1970's heserved as Deputy Director, International Affairs in theDepartment of the Army at the Pentagon. He was alsoDirector of the Planning Staff for the National Security Counciland Deputy to Kissinger and Scowcroft . Later, DeputyAssistant to the Presidents Nixon and Ford in the WhiteHouse from 1974-1976.In parallel, Clint was a proud father of five wonderful children,Stephanie, Meri, Carol Ann, Jennifer and Clinton Edwin IIIwho were born and raised by Liz their mother in the trials ofan Army family over many decades. Clint's expanding familyof grandchildren and great grandchildren live from Canada toTexas.In his military career and through retirement Clint wrote forvarious military magazines publishing 40 articles across theworld. He then found teaching at Southern New HampshireUniversity rewarding and began writing books, 21 in all. Hepublished 11 books and completed 10 more in his 80's and90's.In 2013 he married his soul mate, Lynn Duffy who he adoredand his family expanded again including daughter Angel andMarc and their spouses and children. Family took them onroad trips to Vermont and Maine to spend time with grandkidsthen down to Florida to live. At age 90 he took grandsonQuinn and daughter Angel up in a helicopter. He enjoyedtaking walks, going to classical concerts, the zoo andmuseums with grandchildren and telling stories of his life. Hediscussed computers and the latest technology with Quinn.Lynn and Clint enjoyed watching mysteries and listening togreat music. They spent much time writing together, reflectingon relationships, and developing their relationship with God.They took care of each other and loved each other deeply.

They held hands always and gazed into one another's eyes.Clint, a courageous committed soldier and gentleman finallytook his rest into peace. Clint, Falcon 6 , will take his ultimatemilitary flight back to his beginning at West Point for hisfuneral and burial August 19, 2021.
