Cornelia Currie (Connie) Ashley, 85, departed this life August 6, 2016.Born in Valdosta, GA, June 19, 1931, to Thomas Young and Elizabeth Ashley, Connie grew up in Valdosta, graduated from Valdosta State College, worked for Coca Cola in Atlanta, and Moody Air Force Base, before moving to Tampa in 1955, to work for Florida College in Temple Terrace.She retired from AAA Auto Club South.A lover of all four seasons, but more a lover of children, young people, adults and the aged, she showed loving care for and great hospitality toward all.She was a member of Temple Terrace church of Christ.An only child, she is survived by many cousins and childhood friends, whom she held dear, and a host of spiritual family across this nation and in foreign countries too.A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug 13 at Puckett Auditorium, Florida College, Temple Terrace, at 9 am.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Florida College, 119 N Glen Arven Ave, Temple Terrace, FL 33617.Burial in Valdosta, GA on Monday.
