David E. Shaffer, 61, of Lutz passed away March 24, 2006. Fla. He served with the U.S. Army during Vietnam and received the Purple Heart. He was a lifetime member of Florida Gulf Coast Chapter of 101st Airborne Division Association (The Above and Beyond Chapter) and Airborne Air Assault. He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Mary Ann; daughter, Jennifer Howard of Belle Vernon, PA; sisters, Sandy Lucas and Helen Colwell, both of PA. Funeral service will take place 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, with full military honors. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in David's memory to St. Jude's Children Foundation or Tampa Bay Humane Society.
