It is with the heaviest of hearts that we report the passing of our beloved son and brother, Dewain Thomas on Thursday 4/28/22 at the age of 48. He was an accomplished motorcycle racer and a talented specialty car builder. He also loved his family, dogs, friends, being outdoors, hunting with his dad and target shooting with his buddies.

You would always find him under a car or helping a friend to rebuild anything with a motor. Whether it was racing one of his cars at Daytona or his motorcycle at JenningsGP, he loved being a daredevil on the racetrack. He built many custom performance cars, that were the only ones of their kind. They were sporty, fast, powerful, with unparalleled customizations, and breathtaking to see or drive. The purr of their engines were amazing to hear, even though sometimes very loud.

To quote a friend of Dewain's, "Heaven just got a little bit faster!!" So, when you see those long, thin clouds in the sky know that it is probably Dewain's way of saying I'm here, there are no speed limits, and I am burning all the rubber off these tires.

He will be greatly missed by his mother and father, Judy and Wain Thomas, and his sisters Michele Alatorre and Kristy Varga, all from Lutz, FL. As well as his niece, nephews, the daughter in his heart and many loved friends that he considered to be his family.

Services will be held at MacDonald funeral home, 10520 N. Florida Ave. Tampa, FL 33612 on Saturday May 7, 2022. Viewing is at 1:00pm and services will start at 3:00pm. More information and Memories you may want to share can be found on: https://www.macdonaldfuneral.com
