Dorothy Mary DeAmbrose, 98, of Tampa, FL, formerly of Barrington, RI passed away March 25, 2016. Dorothy is preceded in death by her loving husband, Herman. She is survived by her brother, C. Robert Smith; sons, Robert DeAmbrose (Rosario), Gary DeAmbrose (Toby), Charles DeAmbrose; daughters, Elizabeth DeAmbrose (Gene) and Mary DeAmbrose; grandchildren, Scott Maragioglio (Connie), Arthur Goss (Michelle), Eric Goss, Faith DeAmbrose, Heather Amin (Jay), Melanie Howerton (Ronny), Mary Ferrari (Brian), Marianna Ellett (Michael); seven great grandchildren; and a still larger extended loving family.

Born in Nahant, MA and raised in Weston, MA, she graduated from Weston High. She worked for the Raytheon Corporation for thirty years in Human Resources. Dorothy loved her work as well as her family, extended family, and many friends. She was a champion of the underdog, loved nature, and animals. She extended a helping hand to many people. She supported many conservation and animal causes. She started each day early with a smile and a purpose. She got much of her inner strength from her deep rooted religious Catholic faith. She represented a life well spent.

The family will honor her with a celebration of her life later this year.
