Dorothy Louise (Ryan) Ickes, 91, of Zephyrhills, FL left us to be with the Lord on December 1, 2024. Dorothy was born on January 18, 1933, in Altoona, PA, a daughter of the late Sheldon Thomas and Lillian Katherine (Wagner) Ryan. On February 18, 1950, she married Kenneth Ruben Ickes, who preceded her in death. A beloved mother and grandmother, surviving are her five children: Linda Kennedy of Gainesville, VA., Nancy Fitzpatrick of New Port Richey, FL, Kenneth Ickes of Davenport, FL, Elaine Segura of Austin, TX and Leslie Porter of Zephyrhills, FL, eight (8) grandchildren, and nine (9) great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Jean Berry.

Dorothy graduated from Thomas Johnson High School (Frederick, MD) and was employed by Montgomery Wards where she managed the jewelry and shoe departments before retiring in 1985. She was an active member of her church. Dorothy enjoyed being with her family, cooking, reading, and traveling where she visited 20 nations and 49 states of America.

A funeral service will be held at MacDonald Funeral Home, Tampa, FL on Friday, December 27th, at 11:30 am with a viewing one-hour prior from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. Dorothy will be laid to rest at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fl. at 1:30 pm.
