Dorothy Nix, of Tampa, born on December 8, 1936, has passed away on April 26, 2023 at the age of 86. She was surrounded by her family and friends and ready to be with Jesus, all the while saying "Yes Lord", to her beloved Savior.

Dorothy is survived by her brother, William H (wife JoDeane) Hedgepeth, her children Tina (husband Joe) Iglesias, Otis Foy Nix, Jr. Victor Wayne Nix, and Cindy (husband Donnie) Sweat, 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren to whom she was lovingly known as Mema and stepdaughters Patricia Schultz, Becky Rekitt, and Bonnie Donovan.

She was reunited with husband, Otis Foy Nix, youngest son, Randall Kirk Nix, and granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Nix.

Dorothy worked for Lerner Shops of Northgate (1940's),and Riverhills Christian School (1980's - 2000's). She was a home-maker, and raised 5 children.

She was a woman of strong faith, who devoted her life to her family, church family, and spreading Jesus with everyone. She had a passion for children, and taught K-4 for 20 years. She was known for her sweet spirit, kindness, generosity, and her beautiful blue eyes. She loved gardening.

A funeral will be held at The Walk Church on Thursday, May 4th, at 2:00. The family will receive visitors an  hour prior, from 1:00-2:00. Dorothy will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Monday, May 8 2023, at 12:30.
