Obituary

Mr. Edward F."Ted" Tucker died Sept 30th  in Tampa, Fl.. He was born April 16th 1927 to Frank L. Tucker & Martha Tucker @ Sola, Camaquey Prov., Cuba on the farm known as the Las Quarentas. The family settled in West Palm Beach FL in 1935 to attend schools; arriving on PAA-sea plane from Havana Cuba landing on Biscayne Bay at Dinner Key. Attended elementary schools there, returning to Cuba during the summers. Graduated from Tenn. Military Institute, Sweetwater, Tenn.; attended Georgia Tech. as a midshipman in the NROTC taking his commission in the USM Corp. in 1951. Served with the 2nd Tank Battalion 2nd Marine Div., Camp Lejeune N.C. Met his future loving, beautiful wife Cenora Tucker while at Georgia Tech and they married in 1952. Released from the USMR in 1953 & returned to Sola Cuba. First son, Michael, was born in Camaquey, Cuba. In 1955 they moved to Homestead FL where Ted was employed by Niagara Chemical Div. to represent the Co. in Cuba, Jamaica, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, U.S.Virgin Islands, Dade & Monroe Counties. In 1983 FMC Corp. closed down in Homestead giving Ted & his longtime friend Juliano Ibarra the opportunity to start their own Company, IT Supply Inc. & with the support of loyal customers they operated and served the agriculture community for many years. His passion & hobbies revolved around the sea & traveling. Ted loved to teach and entertain on his boat, "'Waterwitch". The guidance & teaching that Ted leaves behind his family & friends will be cherished forever. Living in Homestead 55 yrs the family belonged to Homestead First United Methodist Church. He taught youth & adults Sunday school. President of the Methodist Men Club, Chair of the administrative board, Chair of the trustees, and member of the Friendship Sunday School class. Also, a member of the Homestead Power Squadron. Relocated to Tampa July 2002. Ted & Cenora become members of the Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church and the Friendship Sunday school class. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Tucker. He is survived by his devoted, beautiful wife Cenora; children, Alan Tucker (Mindy) of Honolulu;  Pam R. Eicher (Buddy) Monticello KY: and Andy Tucker ,Tampa; grandchildren, Rebecca & Emily Eicher, Mark & Christopher Tucker and Zachary & Christine Tucker, and his elder brother, Rev. John W. Tucker (Mae Belle) Lake Worth, Fl. A memorial service will take place at 1 PM Saturday, Oct 4th at Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church in Tampa. In lieu of flowers it is requested that donations be made to the
