Obituary

Elijah Herman Durant, affectionately known as "Eli", was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 7, 1992. Eli attended Alfred E. Smith Vocational H.S. in Bronx, NY, and later began to set off on his many career endeavors, such as Assistant Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Technician. Eli attended Pinellas County Job Corp Center, studying HVAC & Plumbing, he achieved 7 related certifications. Elijah achieved his real estate license in New York and was in the process of obtaining one in Florida, following in the footsteps of his dad, planning to go into business together.

Eli relocated to Tampa, FL in 2012 and flourished in both his personal and professional life. He was the life of the party, literally, and all who knew him can attest to that. He was the CEO of Shmoneybagzs Promotions, partnering with talented artists, some of whom you may know, he threw some of the hottest parties! Eli loved to dress fly, especially in his Adidas gear with his Kango, you couldn't tell him nothing! You can count on him for a good "buzz" and a good time. Eli loved a good game of pool with his dad, his best friend, and his twin.

Eli was a positive young man, always sending positive vibes, and encouraging kids to stay in school. He loved spending quality time with his family, especially his sisters, and while he wasn't a biological father, he took on the role of father to 3 young children that adored him. Unfortunately, at the tender age of 30, God decided that his work here was done and that he needed him home.

On June 7, 2023, God said, "No more suffering, it's time". Elijah is survived by his parents, Herman & "Tarshica (Ty) Allen", Mildred Durant, and his Grandmother "Nicole". His siblings, Tyasia Allen, Shayla Allen, and Jahlil Crawford, His Aunts and Uncles, Jeanett, Sandra, Rashaun, Christopher, Teresa, and Tina, a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends… and of course his Shmoneybagzs family. Lovingly, he also leaves to mourn, his girlfriend Brianna Smith, and the 3 beautiful children they cared for together.

Thank you to all that loved him, prayed for him, and will continue to keep his memory alive!

A funeral service will be held at MacDonald Funeral Home on Saturday, June 24th, at 12:00pm.  The family will receive visitors two hours prior, from 10:00 to 12:00.
