Eljyn Noelle Reid of Tampa, Florida passed away October 28, 2017, at the age of 42. She is preceded in death by her beloved grandparents Nettie Mae Engleberger and Esther and Frank Reid and survived by her family, Thomas and Kay Reid; Pearl Craig, Eden, Britt and Rett Jensen, her two cats, Ed and Ernie and many treasured friends.
Eljyn was born in Tampa on July 5, 1975, She was a fifth generation Floridian and a third generation Tampanian.
She was musically gifted and could play any instrument she picked up. She played the flute in the bands at Young and Adams Junior High School. She was president of the band in 1993, her senior year, at Chamerlain High School playing the baritone horn.
She attended the University of Florida and a The University of South Florida earning degrees in Gerontology and Social Work. While at The University of Florida she played in The Fightin' Gator Marching Band, The Pride of the Sunshine.
Eljyn was a manager for Papa John's opening restaurants in every state in the continental US, and she was a volunteer providing comfort and support to patients and their families for Hospice for many years.
She was an artist and published author and spent the last few years working on her paintings and writing.
She was unique and loved and beautiful and she will be missed so much more than she would have ever believed.
Per her wishes a small, private memorial was held in her honor.
