Mrs. Enriqueta Alava was reunited in heaven with her sweetheart, Ibrahim Alava, on February 14, 2018. She was born in Artemisa, Cuba on January 8, 1925. She came to America in July 1962 and settled in the south Florida town of Belle Glade, where she lived for 54 years before relocating to Tampa.
She is survived by her sons, Ibrahim, Jr, (Janice) and Henry (Gigi).She was a loving "Abia" to Trey (Paty), Shawn, Luke, Kendall, Kate and Michael, and great grandson, Leandro. She is also survived by her sister Martha, nephew Leonardo Lopez, niece Maritza Barenechea and is predeceased by her siblings Armando, Fina, and Lilia.
A visitation will be held at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Lutz on Monday February 19, 2018 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. with a funeral Mass following at 11:00 a.m.
Enriqueta will be laid to rest at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery in Royal Palm Beach, Florida.
The family would like to express warmest and deepest gratitude to the staff of St. Joseph's North with special appreciation to Rebecca, Leanne and Courtney, as well as the compassionate caregivers at Melech Hospice House.
