Erwin (E.L.) Lawson, 66, of Lutz, saw his Savior face to face for the first time on April 11, 2013 with perfect vision. His new, pain free body was surely embraced by his daughter Darby Guzman, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by Jeanie, his wife of 43 years; his son Matthew; daughter Carrie Liddell (Rob); grandchildren: Caleb & Seth Guzman and Callie, Graham, & Sarah Kate Liddell; son-in-law Carlos Guzman; and mother and sisters of Elizabethton, TN.
E.L. relocated to Tampa while serving in the Air Force, and made the area his home. He was an excellent employee and great provider, who enjoyed selling RV's at Lazy Days and was later a banker at Bank of America. His true calling was to ministry: he loved serving as the pastor at Freedom Baptist Church. He pulled for the Yankees and the Tennessee Volunteers, proclaiming his "blood ran orange." E.L. was a sports fan, an honest friend, a faithful husband, a devoted father, a beloved pawpaw, and a KJV Bible-preaching, church-loving pastor. His whole life was his family and the church. He was known to both weep and shout in worship, which he will do through all eternity.
We will be celebrating his life and home-going at Freedom Baptist Church in Plant City on Tuesday
April 16, 2013. A visitation will be held at 9:00am, followed by funeral services at 10:00am.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Freedom Baptist Church Missions.
