Ethel Ovarlet, 88, A longtime resident of Tampa died just after a gentle rain and went to her heavenly garden on June 18,2014. Her children were by her side. She was born May 3,1926 in Enterprise , Alabama. She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Adolph, and parents Jimmy and Ula Hudson. She was also predeceased by sisters Vela, Eva ,Winnie and brother J.L..A homemaker, she was an avid gardener and great Southern cook. Her gardens and meals were enjoyed by many. She was a gentle soul and made all feel welcome in her home. She always took pride in being called a "country girl." During WWII she worked in the Brunswick ,Georgia ship yards as a burner. She leaves behind her loving children Ron Ovarlet (Pat), Linda Browning (Wayne), Ken Ovarlet(Teresa) Robert Ovarlet (Norma),Richard Ovarlet (Weezy) and step daughter Joanne Hudson. She also leaves behind her sister Mary Lucas and brother Joe Hudson, 4 grand children, and 4 great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the staff of Gulfside Hospice at Zephyrhills for their compassionate care. A celebration of life will be held at the First Church of God located at Busch Blvd. and 22nd Street in Tampa on Thursday, June 26, 2014 beginning at 11:00 AM.
