Everett Maloy Carr, 95, of Lutz, FL passed away May 2, 2012. He was born in Thomasville, Georgia and was a resident of Tampa since the age of five. Mr. Carr served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, in both the European and Pacific Theaters of Operation. He was in the construction industry in the Tampa Bay area for 42 years as a tile and marble setter and was an avid fisherman. Mr. Carr was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mizpah Louise Strother Carr, born in Key West, FL in 1918; his parents, Jessie Guise Carr, born in Americus, GA in 1880, Mary Belle Phillips Carr, born in Dillon GA in 1881, six brothers and a sister. He is survived by his son, Phillip L. Carr and daughter-in-law, Patricia A. Sawyer Carr of Lutz, FL; two granddaughters, Catherine L. Roberts of Iola, TX, Kimberly D. Felix of Wesley Chapel, FL; great grandchildren, Dillon & Shelby Barker, Jason & Amanda Roberts and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday evening, May 7th from 6-8 pm at MacDonald Funeral Home, 10520 North Florida Ave, Tampa. A funeral service will take place at 10:30 AM Tuesday, May 8th at Faith Baptist Church of Seffner, 603 Faithway Drive. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Following the burial, a reception will be held at the church.
