Obituary

Ferdinand J. (Freddie) Vizzi, 50, entered eternal life on Friday, December 3, 2010 in Tampa. Born in New Orleans, LA on June 30, 1960. He was preceded in death by his father Ferdinando Vizzi, M.D. and brother Frank E. Vizzi, M.D. Freddie is the beloved husband of Linda Fisher Vizzi, the one he laughed with, lived for, loved, father of Jeremy J. Vizzi and Riannon D. Vizzi, and grandfather of Anabelle Elizabeth Simpkins. He is also survived by his mother, Margaret R. Vizzi; his brothers: Bernard A. Vizzi and his wife Vicki; his twin Arthur J. Vizzi and his wife, Doree' ; Frank's wife, Lyn B. Vizzi; Joseph P. Vizzi and his wife Jodi; Peter D. Vizzi, M.D., and his wife Jeanne, and his sisters: Celeste V. Allen, Rosalie V. Arthur and Margaret M. Vizzi; his mother-in-law Mary L. Fisher; and his sister-in-law Sandra J. Fisher. Freddie has many surviving aunts and uncles in New Orleans and Tampa; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, and cousins. Freddie made many friends during his employment years at Westshore Glass. He was passionate about fishing (although you had to promise to "throw them back"); he was very competitive at running, cycling and a mountain bike enthusiast. He loved life to the fullest.The family would like to thank caregiver Nicole Sandifer for making a difference in Freddie's last days and playing Scrabble tirelessly with him. Many thanks also go to the Blue Team of Hospice, including: Jan, Jackie, Candice, Jodi, Bobbi, Bambi and Maggie. In addition, the family would like to thank H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center for their care and treatment of Freddie during the past years, particularly Lisa, Denise and Tito, for their endless support and friendship. The family also wishes to thank the Law Firm of Carlton Fields, P.A., for all their support and love shown to them. A visitation will be held at 8:00 a.m., Saturday, December 11, 2010 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 15520 North Boulevard, Tampa, followed by a funeral Mass at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be according to his wishes. A reception at the Parish Center will begin immediately following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the College Education Fund for Anabelle Elizabeth Simpkins, c/o BB&T; or to a charity of your choice. "If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever."
