Ferrell
Jenkins
Apr 11, 1959 — Sep 21, 2026
On September 21, 2026, Ferrell Jenkins Jr. passed away peacefully at his home at the age of 67.
Ferrell Jr. was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on April 11, 1959, to Ferrell and Elizabeth Jenkins. He lived in several cities and states during his early childhood before moving with his family from Akron, Ohio to Temple Terrace, Florida. He remained in the area, making it his permanent home.
Ferrell Jr was many things to many people. He was a son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He loved spending many hours visiting and talking with those he loved. He also enjoyed his personal quiet time, but you never felt rushed when spending time with him. He always had interesting topics he wanted to discuss and could find a way to bring a good laugh into the conversation.
Ferrell Jr attended Florida College and later transferred to Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky, where he studied Business and Marketing. He always held a special place in his heart for Kentucky. This is where his mother was from, and where many family members still live. There were many summers that Ferrell would go to Kentucky and spend time with what he referred to as “our Kentucky family”.
From an early age Ferrell Jr was no stranger to hard work. As a teenager, he began working at Albertsons, stocking shelves and beginning what would become a lifelong career in the grocery and consumer products industry. After completing his education, he worked for several companies in the industry, including Pepperidge Farm, Jimmy Dean, SlimFast and Campbell Soup, from which he eventually retired. He was also a member of the Consumer Brands Association.
Ferrell Jr was preceded in death by his loving mother, Elizabeth Williams Jenkins. He is survived by his father, Ferrell Jenkins Sr.; his younger brother Stan Jenkins; his nephew Andrew Jenkins; his aunt Linda Williams Rutledge; and many cousins.
Ferrell Jr was a kind and generous man who enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. He took many memorable trips with his father to the Bible Lands and throughout Europe. He remained connected to several of his college roommates and they would take at least one trip annually to watch a Western Kentucky University football game. Sometimes they attended a home game in Bowling Green, Kentucky, but they also enjoyed traveling to other locations to watch the Hilltoppers play.
Ferrell Jr will be cremated and interred at Sunset Memorial Gardens. A memorial Service will be scheduled at a later date.
