Finley Riley Jr., 83, of Tampa passed away October 26, 2013 at Kindred Hospital on S. Manhattan Ave. The Riley family had to let go of our precious mentally challenged angel Finley Riley Jr. For 83 years, he had brought great joy and laughter to our family. He was a very special person with special needs. He died of congestive heart failure, brought on by diabetes. He battled for 11 months and had an incomparable will to live. He truly understood the value and sanctity of life. As a young man in Cincinnati, where he lived most of his life, he groomed race horses. Horses took to him and obeyed him. He also worked for his father Finley Sr and brother Bill Riley in plastering and stone masonry in Cincinnati. His father died in 1975. His mother Pearl Riley cared for Finley for 67 years before her passing in 2000 at the age of 97. In 1996, he moved to Florida to live with his brother Ed Riley for 17 years in Tampa. He loved cowboy movies, Pepsi-cola, fishing and sleeping. Finley is now reunited with his parents, family and friends. Finley is also preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Riley of Cincinnati, Ray Riley of Austin, MN, sister, Joyce Bono of Clearwater, FL., Bobby Riley of Cincinnati, OH; niece, Melanie and two nephews, Jimmy and David. Finley is survived by brothers, Ed and Bill Riley of Tampa; sisters, Peggy Riley of Clearwater, FL, Patricia Cann of Hamilton, Ohio and Doloris Mossor of Bethel, Ohio; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews. The Riley family says "Thanks Finley Jr. for being You". We will greatly miss our big hearted, kind, gentle, loving humorous Finley Jr, he was God's angel to us. At the end, Finley kept asking his brother Ed, "are we going home now?" God answered Yes and took his angel home. The Riley family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to all who cared for him. Services and interment will take place in Cincinnati, Ohio.
