Floyd Errol Varner previously of Providence, RI passed away suddenly on Friday, October 12, 2018 at his home in Tampa, Florida.Born on July 14, 1961 to the late Dempsey and Vivian (Mendes) Varner of Providence, he is survived by his wife of 35 years, Lillian (Farley) Varner and their son, Brendon.His legacy lives within his daughter Amanda Pacheco Varner and her husband Tarsheen Crum; son Floyd Jr. and his wife, Yesenia Caba; and his grandchildren, Amiyah Pacheco, Yailanee Varner, and Floyd Varner III.
He leaves to mourn his life, siblings: Ann Marie Silveira of Providence; Paul Varner and wife Patricia of Seekonk, Ma; Vivian Akinruli of Baltimore, Md; Georgette Varner of Providence; Scott Varner and wife Adrienne of Providence.
He was the brother of the late Dempsey Varner Jr. of Providence and Beverly Shelton Varner of Jacksonville, Fl.
His memory is cherished by many nieces and nephews especially his beloved twins Alisha and Alita Varner of Providence.
Floyd was an entrepreneurial spirit at heart who started and grew his business over 35 years, first in Providence before relocating to Atlanta and finally to Tampa.He was a meticulous dresser with an eye for tidiness.This trait naturally translated to the success of his janitorial service where Floyd took pride in ownership and the order of professionally completed projects.
Floyd possessed an electric smile and warm personality that earned him friends whenever he entered the room.With his best friend and wife Lillian by his side, he experienced the joy and adventure of travel especially his recent family trips with children, grand children and nieces.Floyd was an avid movie buff who dedicated rooms in his home to an extreme movie theater experience, complete with bass rumbling acoustics.He enjoyed sharing his cinema passion with his son Brendon as they often spent weekends together watching movies in succession.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 1:00pm at Swan Point Cemetery in Providence, Rhode Island.
