Francis William Maciver, 77, of Lutz, Florida passed awayunexpectedly February 1, 2016. He was born in Rochester, N.H. And moved to the area in 1986. Francis was a self-employed Master Carpenter/Home Builder, member of Carpenter's Union and a Christian. Francis was the son of Angus MacIver and Marjorie Guy of Gonic, N.H. He is survived by his two siblings, Eleanor and Kenneth, and his six children: Charles P. and family of Ossipee, N.H., William F. and family of Wasilla, AK., Stevie G. and family of Rochester, N.H., Roxanne VanGelder and family of Rochester, N.H., and Heidi M. Ripple and family of New Market, N.H., and Scott D. of Lutz, Fl. At Spalding High School, in Rochester, N.H., Francis was a member of the Future Farmers of America and was also highly athletic. He participated in boxing and played for the Red Raiders as a halfback. Earning himself a scholarship to the University of New Hampshire in athletics and agriculture, he instead chose to leave home and school and marry his high school sweetheart, Alyceann, and start a family. Later in life, he played for the Tri-City Chargers as their original left halfback and then eventually moved to defense. He assisted with their coaching and with the Red Team (youth football). He was also an avid archer, competing frequently throughout the Seacoast region. Francis loved family activities with his wife and six children. In 1986, yearning for the warm weather, he moved to Lutz, Florida, where he enjoyed his retirement years with Alyceann and son, Scott. Locally, he and Alyceann delighted in the outdoors and in leisure travels back to New England to visit. Services will be held later this year at Rochester Cemetery in Rochester, N.H.
