Fred James III Harrison, 67, of Plant City FL passed away August 5, 2011 at Melech Hospice House after a courageous battle with cancer with the support of his love/best friend & companion Mary Ann Michel at his side. Fred's passions for life were many a few in particular, classic cars, golf & dancing. His first love of the dance world was the "Carolina Shag" which he strongly supported & pursued with enthusiasm throughout the Carolinas & Florida. Wherever the dance took him! He was a founding memeber and a part president of the Tampa Bay Beach Boppers Association. Fred was inducted into the Florida "Shag Dance" Hall of Fame 2005. Most recently in August 2010 he was the first inductee to the TBBB's Hall of Fame. Fred will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched and the true friendships that meant so much to him in his wide "circle of friends." Freddie loved life and enjoyed surrounding himself with upbeat positive people. He is survived by his son, Fred James Harrison, IV of Morrisville, NC; brother & sister-in-law, Lonnie & Cheryl McCaskil of Rockinham, NC; nephew, Lonnie McCaskil, Jr. of Rockingham, NC; & loving partner and companion, Mary Ann Michel of Tampa.
