Frederick Ralph Austin, 80, of Land O' Lakes, FL passed away October 13, 2013. He was born in 1933 to Sherly Ev Austin & Vera Collums Austin in Pontotoc County, Mississippi. Ralph served in the Army Quartermasters during the Korean War. He earned a degree in Accounting from Harding University, and worked 25 years at the Memphis Publishing Company and retired in 1995. During his life he spent over 20 years preaching the gospel; many of those years with the Church of Christ in Buckhorn, Mississippi. In 1995 Ralph and Helen retired to the Tampa, Fl area to be close to their children. Ralph enjoyed playing golf, hunting, bowling, basketball, but most of all, he loved worshiping the Lord. Ralph is survived by his wife of 62 years; Helen Houpt Austin, along with their son Robert Austin and daughter in law Toni Austin; son David Austin and daughter in law Debi Austin; grand children, Robert, Joshua, Brittany, Kalylin, Chaz, and Justin, and two great grandchildren, Leighton and Gaige. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5-8 pm at MacDonald Funeral Home, 10520 N Florida Ave, Tampa. Funeral service with full military honors will take place at 11:30 AM Friday at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell Florida. Ralph's longtime friend, Mr Bob Owens will officiate.
