Gene Raymond Holt Oppy of Wesley Chapel, FL, 'Saw the Light' and followed it home on March 19th, 2025.

He passed peacefully surrounded by family, conversation, laughter, and his favorite – country music.

He was a man who did not know strangers, was hard working, and loved to create with wood, paint, and electricity. He was known throughout Ohio, Illinois, and Florida working and having fun at Westclox, Danforth Realty, Shuman Construction, and Ace Hardware to name but a few.

His favorite musician, Hank Williams Sr, can say it the best for him.

'Hey, Good Lookin', 'Everything's OK'.  I'm a little bit 'Homesick' and 'Last Night I Dreamed of Heaven'. So even though 'I Won't Be Home No More', don't you worry. 'Forever's a Long, Long Time' and 'I'm Gonna Sing, Sing, Sing' while 'Building a House of Gold'. So even though 'There's a Tear in My Beer', 'Move it On Over' and we will go 'Honky Tonkin' when next we meet..

Gene is survived by his loving wife, two brothers, one sister, five children, sixteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren. Meeting him on the other side are his parents, brother, sister, and grandson.

Memorial service will be a celebration of life on April 6th from 12pm until 4pm EST.
