Gene "Papa" Clarence Stebbins,69, of Tampa, Florida passed away suddenly on Friday, August 28, 2020.
Gene was born in Saginaw, Michigan on February 23, 1951. His family moved to Hollywood, Florida in 1954. He lived many different places throughout his life settling in Tampa in 2001 where he lived with his loving companion, Suzy Frizzell.
Gene loved working on various projects including lego building, wood building, gardening, etc. If he saw it and liked it he could build it. His favorite saying was "It'll work". He enjoyed cooking, fishing, toy collecting, spending time with his grandchildren and tinkering around in his yard. He also loved his cats, and had several as pets and many that he took care of that were feral.
He was preceded in death by his parents George and Mildred (Arndt) Stebbins, A brother, Rodney Stebbins, and a grandson, John Stebbins, and a nephew Rodney Stebbins Jr.
Gene is survived by his longtime companion, Suzy Frizzell of Tampa, Brother Terry Stebbins of Lantana, Florida, and Roger Stebbins of Smiths Grove, Kentucky. One sister Sandra (Eddie) Lovett of New Tazewell, Tennessee. His daughter Colleen Stebbins of Rockford, Illinois, Sons Gene Stebbins of Thonotosassa, Fl, Marc Frizzell and Kevin Frizzell of Tampa, Florida. His Grandchildren, Bradley Stebbins of Freeport, IL, Alexander, Katelyn, and Dylan Stebbins of Thonotosassa, Kirsti, Justin, Jason and Austin Frizzell of Tampa, FL and one great granddaughter Ariella Stebbins of Freeport, IL, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
There will be a private family service in his honor.
