George Cort, 82, of Tampa passed on to Heaven Thursday, November 6, 2014 after an extended illness. George was born in Birmingham, England and immigrated to Florida in 1957. George Cort was a proud member of the Painter and Allied Trades Union for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Clara Cort and three brothers, Ernie, Albert and Arthur. He is survived by his loving wife, Anita Gay Cort; 6 sons, George E. Cort, Barry L. Cort, Bill Smith, Mike Smith, Larry D. Smith and Timothy Smith; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Sheila Delves; and a large extended family and multitude of friends. His life will be celebrated, by family and close friends, at his beloved home, this Saturday. The family wishes to thank the staff of Fletcher Rehabilitation and LifePath Hospice for the loving care they gave their loved one throughout his illness.
