George Franklin “Frank” Guill, III, 75, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Blue Palms Health and Rehabilitation Center in Tampa, Florida. Born in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Frank was the son of George Franklin Guill, Jr. and Frances Dozier Guill. He graduated from Rocky Mount Senior High School in 1968 and worked for Barcalounger Manufacturing before moving with his family to Tampa in 1985, where he later worked for Albertsons Foods (now Publix).

Frank was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Mildred “Millie” Armstrong Guill. He is survived by his daughters, Susan Guill Smith (Patrick) of Concord, North Carolina, and Jessica Guill Sonnenschein (Mark) of Tampa, Florida; grandchildren, Katherine Elizabeth Smith and George Patrick Smith; sister, Robin Guill Liles (Allen); nephews, cousins, and six great-nieces and nephews.

Frank loved Florida, its warm climate, agriculture, and especially its diverse people and cultures. He enjoyed traveling throughout the state, visiting farms and discovering new foods, often saying that to know people, one must first know their food. His faith and love of God’s creation were central to his life.

Above all, Frank treasured his family. He remained deeply devoted to his daughters and was immensely proud of his grandchildren. His father’s words to him in 1983 remained a lasting testament to the man Frank was: “I am proud of you, son... You have always worked hard, and you are a good citizen and a good man.”

Yes, he was.

A private memorial service celebrating Frank’s life and legacy will be held in the fall. Memorials may be made to the Junior Charity League of Concord or the Society of St. Andrew. The family extends profound gratitude to the staff and residents of Blue Palms Health and Rehabilitation Center and Hospice of Florida for their compassionate care of Frank.
