George A. Pigott, 85, a long standing Class A PGA Golf professional, real estate broker, and member of Avila Golf and Country Club passed away 3-21-09. George was born in Washington DC. He graduated from Eastern HS and attended George Washington University on a basketball scholarship for two years. He went on to serve in the US Army Air Corps. George was the head PGA Golf professional at Andrews AFB (Camp Springs, MD) and Turf Valley Country Club (Ellicott City, MD), and worked as a real estate broker in the Tampa area. He loved to teach golf and play gin-rummy with his friends at Avila. George is survived by his sisters; Helen Darden, Shirley Galusky, and Barbara Johnston, seven children; Chris, Robin, Gary, George, Lisa, Susan, and Heather; nine Grandchildren, and five Great Grandchildren. George's celebration of life will be held at 1010 Rosslare Ct, Arnold, MD 21012, Friday,3-27-09, from 5-7 PM.
