George Sidney Lang, Sr., 71, of Port Richey, Florida passed away January 16, 2015. George was born in Sewickley, PA. He did a number of odd jobs throughout the years including managing a hotel in south Florida, training and working with horses, and working on barges. George served his country honorably with the United States Marine Corp in the Vietnam War from 1964 to 1968. He enjoyed gardening, animals, fishing and being near the water. He always had his country's well being in his heart and standing up for what is right. The son of the late Charles F. Lang and Lorraine Dunlap Lang. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Lang and sister, Rebecca Lang Lambert. He is survived by his fiance' Shauna Emken and her three children, Todd Emken, Jr., Randall Shaffer, Jr. and Amanda Emken; brother, Charles F. "Fritz" Lang (Phyllis) of Pittsburgh, PA; son, George Lang, Jr of Pittsburgh, PA; daughter, Janet Lang Miller of Asheville, NC; four grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service with military honors will be Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 2pm at Riverside Baptist Church, 6219 River Rd., New Port Richey, Florida 34652. All memorials can be sent to Riverside Baptist Church, c/o Andrew Jaenichen, George Lang Memorial, so the church knows where it needs to be directed for the memorial. Also, flowers are being accepted the day of the service at the address of the church above.
