Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that our beloved Gladys Morales, 78, of Lutz, Florida, was chosen by God to enter the kingdom of heaven on April 2, 2025. Gladys was a loving wife, Mother, and Grandmother, a remarkable woman, with a beautiful soul that will be deeply missed.

Gladys was born on December 30, 1946, to Francisco and Felicita Serrano in Manhattan, New York. Gladys was the oldest of 10 children. Although Gladys would appear to be quiet and shy, those that knew her experienced her great sense of humor, and knew how she could talk your ear off with an endless number of stories, that are now left as beautiful memories. Her personality is beautiful and caring, she had the most generous heart and was the most selfless person you ever met. Her kindness and compassion for others have and will continue to touch the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who have had the privilege of knowing her.

Gladys had a lot of love for many things like her westerns and Indians, shopping, her flowers, knitting, old Southern Gospel music, singing in her church choir praising the Lord, watching old classic movies, and spending time and creating memories with her children and grandchildren. But the one thing Gladys loved more than anything was her husband, Jeremiah Morales. Gladys and Jeremiah met in the church choir as teenagers and that's where their love story began. They married on November 14, 1964, and were married for 52 years. They shared 5 children together. Gladys and Jeremiah were true soulmates and inseparable up until the very end. She would always say that Jeremiah was her shadow, never to leave her side.

Gladys is survived by her daughter Phyllis Frey; son-in-law Paul Frey; her son, Jeremiah Morales Jr. (Junior); and her son David Morales; daughter-in-law Dalana Morales. Her 4 grandchildren are Rachel and Paul Jr. (P.J.) Frey and Jaelin and Eliana Morales. Her 5 great grandchildren Serenity and Christian Cox, Alesia Licea, and Adrian and Isaac Frey. Her sister, Norma Mohammed; and her 4 brothers Daniel, Noel, Irving, and Abel Serrano. She was reunited and welcomed into the heavens by her loving Husband Jeremiah Morales; her son Joel Morales; her daughter baby Elizabeth Morales; her parents Francisco and Felicita Serrano; her sister Frances Rosado; and her 2 brothers Francis (Frank) and Wilson (Willie) Serrano.

Gladys's legacy as a mother, grandmother, friend, and Christ follower will endure, and her spirit will continue to inspire us all. In our hearts, she lives on, and we will forever honor the love and her everlasting impact she leaves on our lives.

A memorial service to celebrate Gladys Morales' victory into the gates of heaven will be held at MacDonald Funeral Home on Thursday, April 17th, from 10am to 11:30am. A committal service for her final resting place will follow at Florida National Cemetery at 1:00 pm.
