Gregory 'Shawn' Lawless, 52, peacefully went to be with the Lord on July 24, 2013.Born in Denville, NJ he graduated from Mendham High School and later attended Delaware Valley College and the University of South Florida.Shawn was a star athlete in high school and attended college on a Baseball scholarship.He started his career in Tampa as a Tennis Professional and later moved into sales with a national food equipment distributor.His passions included years as a competitive triathlete, running, golfing, riding his Harley, spending time with his family, and creating a one of a kind back yard rib off.
Shawn is survived by his loving wife Kathy; treasured daughters Jessica and Cassidy; beloved mother Mary Lawless; cherished sister and brother-in-law Colleen & Jimmy Purcaro; sister Kelly Lawless; in-laws Robert & Anna Hamric, Billy & Allyson Littleton, Lynne Lorrier; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of life-long friends...all who loved him very much. Shawn was a wonderful, caring and gentle man who touched the hearts of so many people.His quick wit, genuine smile and charisma will be sincerely missed. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in downtown Tampa, 509 E. Twiggs Street.A reception in celebration of his life will be held immediately after the service.
