Harry C. Spaulding, (Lt Col., U.S. Army Ret.) 77, of Tampa passed away July 19, 2008. He served 26 years with the US Army before retiring. He was a well decorated war hero, who received the Bronze Star, the Silver Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry Medal and many others. After retiring, he received his PhD. in Psychology from the University of South Florida and later became an Assistant Professor at USF, and established his own practice, Professional Psychological Services with three partners.  He retired from his practice in 1995 to build his retirement home in North Carolina. He is survived by his wife, Halaine-Sherin Spaulding (nee Briggs); children, Daniel H. Spaulding of Lillington, NC, Andrea K. Walter of St. Petersburg, Fla and Philip A. Briggs of Mt. Dora Fla; and his sister, Helen Allen. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 23, 2008 from 5-8 PM at MacDonald Funeral Home 10520 North Florida Avenue, Tampa. A graveside service will take place at 11:00 AM Thursday July 24, 2008 at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, send memorial contributions to Prostate Cancer Research Project at American Cancer Society.
