Mrs. Hazel Thrower Knight, 89, of Tampa entered heaven on March 5, 2016. She is now in the arms of A. Eugene Knight, her loving husband of 69 years, and her daughter Penelope G. Wood.Hazel is survived by her son Barry D. Knight, daughters Brenda C. Smith and Kimberly D. Knight, her brother Charles E. Thrower and her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Hazel was born on November 10, 1926 in Rocky Mount, NC and as an infant moved with her family to Tampa.During World War II Hazel was an office worker at the U.S. Phos-phoricplant in Tampa. Later, she worked as a licensed Beautician, and Surgical Technician.She enjoyed beekeeping, gardening, raising birds and tropical fish.She was also an accomplished astrologer and produced detailed astrological charts for many of her family members and friends.In her later years she enjoyed many friendships, social events and activities at the Lakeshore Villas and Renaissance senior communities in Tampa. Hazel, you loved life and we will always love and fondly remember you. The family will visit with friends Tuesday, March 15th at MacDonald Funeral Home, 10520 N. Florida Ave, Tampa from 10:30 AM -11:30 AM. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 PM Tuesday, at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
