On February 6, 2023, Helen C. Amelio of Beckley West Virginia had died at the age of 64 in her sleep while at home. Helen was born to Treva Motley and Alpha Lilly. She was a pharmacist for the United States Army for 12 years. She met her husband, Richard L. Amelio, of 46 years in Fort Lee, Virginia. Together Helen and Rich raised three children. Frank, Laura, and Natasha. Helen was a loving mother, a teacher, and an avid crafter. Helen was known for her knowledge and was loved by many for her caring heart and willingness to help anyone one. Helen was known for her stories that shared her humor and her wisdom and often brought a memorable phrase with it. Helen is preceded by her father Charlie Millican, her mother Treva, and her brother Earl Gray. She is survived by her husband Rich, her three children, and her 10 grandbabies. Mateo, Cameron, Lesley and Erik Amelio fathered by Frank Amelio. Skye, Sammi, and Joey Farfante Jr. mothered by Laura Amelio. Kevin Fredericks, Colton Gologram and Ethan Gibson mothered by Tasha Amelio. Helen is also survived by her two sisters Karen and Sandy and many nieces and nephews and her students. There will be a Celebration of Life for Helen that will be announced at a later time.
