Jim was born in San Antonio, Texas on July 17, 1950 to Laura Girand Perdue. He lived the majority of his life in Tampa and was a graduate of Hillsborough High School. While in school, he worked as a manager for the Tower Drive-in Theater. After graduation Jim became a successful realtor, operated his own painting company, attended architectural design school, and then completed his working career as a security guard at WFLA News Channel 8, a job that he thoroughly loved. He was a sports enthusiast, enjoyed collecting, reading the newspaper, engaging conversation, time shared with his family and in his earlier years, hunting trips with his uncle and his brothers. Jim could entertain most with his humor, knowledge and trivia and often had an adage, quote or aphorism to interject into a conversation. Jim until we see you again, we will carry you in our hearts and tell your story to those that did not have the pleasure of knowing you!
