Jean Kinnard Cannon, 75, of Tampa passed away June 2016. Jean Kinnard Cannon was born in 1941 to William E. Kinnard Sr. and Rose Marie (Huey) Kinnard. Jean graduated from Chamberlain High School in Tampa, Florida in 1959. On July 1st, 1972 Jean married Felton Eugene Cannon. In November of 1973 they were blessed with the birth of Char-Lynn Cannon. Jean had a Son Dalton "Cody" and Step daughter Tammy from a previous marriage.
Jean and Felton had a family owned and operated Air Freight Business for over 40 years.
In the 1980's Jean applied to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Department and was accepted. Jean served as a Deputy in District 3 for approximately 10 years and retired to return to the family business.
Jean and Felton had to sell the Air Freight Business due to heath reasons in 2004.
In 2012 Felton passed away and Jean moved in with her daughter Char-Lynn.
Jean was a very strong willed and independent woman and made the decision she wanted to be out on her own and in May of 2016 took steps to achieve that goal. June 9th she moved in to her own residence at Rocky Creek. She was so excited, happy and at peace. You could see it in her eyes the joy of unpacking her belongings and placing them around her new home was making her so happy. She had a new life and was looking foreword to her new independence. As we remember Jean thru our tears, Please know in your hearts she is with Jesus and her husband Felton and is and will always be in our hearts. When you see a Butterfly, think of Jean.
She retired from the Hillsborough Sheriffs Office. Family will receive friends Monday, June 27th from 5- 9 PM at MacDonald Funeral Home, 10520 N. Florida Ave. Tampa. Funeral will take place 12 Noon Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
